Touring Superleggera has revealed the Veloce12 Aperta, an open-roof addition to its coachbuilt Veloce12 range.
Following the Veloce12 Coupé and Barchetta, the Aperta uses two manually removable roof panels and a sculpted-aluminium arch behind the cabin. The panels can be stored in a dedicated compartment within the car, allowing it to alternate between open and enclosed configurations.

The Aperta retains the Veloce12’s naturally aspirated 5.5-litre V12 sourced from the Ferrari 550 Maranello, producing a quoted 503bhp at 7000rpm and 560lb ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.
Mechanical changes include a high-flow Supersprint exhaust, revised cooling, a carbon-reinforced chassis and TracTive adaptive suspension. Touring estimates that the Aperta will accelerate from 0-62mph in 4.4 seconds and reach 180mph.

Touring has placed particular emphasis on luggage space. The Aperta provides 327 litres with the roof fitted and 233 litres when the panels are stored. Its rear deck incorporates a dark burgundy leather and aluminium luggage panel with integrated retaining straps.
Limited-series Rimowa aluminium cases and crocodile leather luggage produced by Milan-based Giosa Milano have been designed to fit the available space. Up to five pieces of luggage can be carried, depending on whether the roof panels are aboard.

The launch car is finished in Alba White over carbonfibre bodywork, with a two-tone light and dark burgundy cabin. Touring says the colour combination was influenced by its coachwork for the Maserati 3500 GT during the 1960s. Materials include woven leather and Alcantara, while the exterior Aperta script is made from solid 24-carat gold.

Touring Superleggera has not disclosed the number of cars planned, pricing or a delivery timetable, describing the Aperta only as a strictly limited-production model. Touring Superleggera chief executive Markus Tellenbach said: “The Veloce12 Aperta offers the duality that bridges the muscular presence of the Veloce12 Coupé and the unrestrained freedom of the Veloce12 Barchetta.”
