Stuttgart seduction descends at Petersen Museum’s Porsche Cruise-In 2025

More than 400 Porsche enthusiasts tried to get a slice of the action at the Petersen Museum‘s recent Porsche Cruise-In 2025. Stuttgart machinery from across the spectrum, from 911s to transaxles, and air-cooled to water-cooled, was spread throughout the leading automotive attraction’s parking garages in Los Angeles, and although entry was capped at 400 tickets, plenty more tried to get into the August 31 event as well.

With such a plethora of Porsches, highlights could be found everywhere at the Petersen’s Porsche Cruise-In 2025. Bruce Meyer’s 1973 Peter Gregg/Hurley Haywood Daytona-winning 911 Carrera 2.8 RSR was in attendance, as were a 918 in dark metallic blue and a white Carrera GT. For fans of more modern 911s, the 964 from Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was in attendance, and there were several Dakar-spec 992s sporting entertaining accoutrements.

Additional events are planned at the Petersen Museum through to the end of September. Workshop tours will take place on September 13, 20 and 27, and there’s a detailing workshop on September 20. The Little Sparks: City Building event, also on September 20, aimed at three- to six-year-olds, will in turn allow those taking part to create buildings and even a cardboard city in the museum.

The next Cruise-In event, on September 28, is called BMWs & Bretzels; cars and motorcycles are invited to participate in this celebration of the Munich marque. There’s also the novel Escape the Petersen feature – an ‘escape room’ scenario in which you’re given 45 minutes to find your way out.

Current open exhibits include Super/Hyper: The Ultimate Automobiles, Totally Awesome! Cars and Culture of the ’80s and ’90s, People’s Champ: The Impact of Ken Block and The Wedge Revolution: Cars on the Cutting Edge. There’s also a newly opened vault with more than 300 vehicles on display, spanning 120 years of history.
