Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button is set to reunite with his iconic Championship-winning Brawn BGP 001 at next year’s 83rd Goodwood Members’ Meeting, hosted by Audrain Motorsport, which takes place at the famous Historic racing circuit in West Sussex on April 18-19, 2026.
Button last piloted the BGP 001 in 2019 to commemorate the tenth anniversary of his title triumph. For the Members’ Meeting, he will return behind the wheel for a special on-track demonstration, celebrating his remarkable career following his retirement from professional racing.
The Brawn BGP 001 – which is the sole car ever to be constructed by the Brawn GP Team – dominated the 2009 season, securing eight victories out of 17 races with Button and Rubens Barrichello driving. Over the Members’ Meeting 2026 weekend, for the first time, Button will appear at Goodwood in the very car that secured his 2009 World Championship. This machine has previously been showcased at the Festival of Speed in 2016 and during SpeedWeek in 2020.
Button’s connection with Goodwood spans decades, having participated in headline motor sport events since the early 2000s. He made his Historic racing debut in the Royal Automobile Club TT celebration (RAC TT) at Revival in 2021. In 2025, he claimed the Freddie March Memorial Trophy while racing his specially acquired 1962 Jaguar E-type in the RAC TT.
Jenson Button said: “I am excited to be making my Members’ Meeting debut, and in no less special a car than the Brawn BGP 001. I last had a chance to drive it back in 2019, which was incredibly emotional and quite surreal. I cannot wait to experience that feeling all over again, and where better than Goodwood.”
Other highlights at the 83rd Members’ Meeting are a James Hunt-era tribute and a Super Touring Car demonstration.
