More than 50 pre-1966 Maseratis, the three Ford GT Mk2s that finished first, second and third at Le Mans in 1966, and an RAC TT field containing some unusual driver-and-car combinations are among the additions confirmed for Goodwood Revival 2026, which takes place on September 18-20.
Maserati provides the largest single-marque element of this year’s meeting, marking 100 years since Alfieri Maserati took the Tipo 26 to a 1500cc class victory on the company’s competition debut in the 1926 Targa Florio. Goodwood says more than 50 Maseratis will run during the weekend, including what it describes as the largest gathering of 250Fs ever assembled at the event. The wider selection is due to include the 150S, 200Si, 300S, 350S and 450S sports racers, as well as 4CL, 4CM, 8C and 8CM single-seaters, A6GCSs and the later Tipo 151 and Tipo 63 sports cars. The pre-war V4 and V8RI are also listed among the planned participants.
The 250F gathering will sit alongside machinery from markedly different points in Maserati’s competition history. The V4 used a 16-cylinder engine created by mounting two straight-eights on a common crankcase and dates from 1929, while the rear-engined Tipo 63 belongs to Maserati’s final period of Works sports-car development three decades later. The Tipo 151, meanwhile, represented the front-engined V8 branch of the same early 1960s programme and continued at Le Mans after Maserati had ended full Works participation.
Ferrari will join Maserati in the returning Lavant Cup, which was most recently held as an all-Ferrari race in 2023. For 2026 the grid is being restricted to 1950s sports-racing cars from the two Modena manufacturers. Goodwood has already referenced Ferrari 500 TRs and Maserati 300Ss as core entries, while other cars eligible for the field include Ferrari 166 MMs, 250 MMs, 500 Mondials, 750 Monzas and Testa Rossas alongside Maserati A6GCSs, 200Ss and 450Ss.
Another group will appear without racing. The three Ford GT Mk2s (GT40s) responsible for Ford’s 1-2-3 finish at the 1966 Le Mans 24 Hours will run together at the Motor Circuit, 60 years after the race. Chassis P/1046 was driven to victory by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon, ahead of Ken Miles and Denny Hulme in P/1015 and Ronnie Bucknum and Dick Hutcherson in P/1016. They appeared earlier this year at the Festival of Speed and will be reunited again for the Revival.
The RAC TT Celebration has several new combinations for 2026. Jenson Button will drive Jaguar E-type CUT 8, which he acquired specifically for Historic racing, while Jacques Villeneuve will use its Protheroe-prepared sister car CUT 7. Button took CUT 8 to victory in the Phil Hill Cup at the 83rd Members’ Meeting in April, having scored his first Goodwood Historics victory in his Jaguar C-type at the 2025 Revival. CUT 7 won last year’s RAC TT Celebration.
Four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Hélio Castroneves will make his Historic-racing debut at the meeting, while nine-time Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen, seven-time NASCAR Cup champion Jimmie Johnson and four-time BTCC champion Colin Turkington are also confirmed for the TT race. Johnson finished seventh in the 2025 race with Shaun Lynn in an AC Cobra Le Mans Coupé, while Kristensen shared a TVR Griffith 400 with Mike Whitaker. Kristensen’s previous Revival record includes victory in the 2011 RAC TT in a Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupé alongside Kenny Bräck.
The race itself moves to the final competitive slot on Sunday for the first time. Goodwood has reorganised the weekend so that Friday contains 13 practice sessions followed by two races, with the first St Mary’s Trophy contest preceding the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy in the evening. Seven races are planned for Saturday, while six form the Sunday programme before the RAC TT. A new grid-based closing event follows the TT podium ceremony before the traditional prize-giving.
Two races return to the schedule; in addition to the Lavant Cup, the Brooklands Trophy appears for the first time since 2021, bringing together pre-war sports cars from manufacturers including Frazer Nash, Aston Martin, Bentley, MG, BMW and Talbot-Lago. The St Mary’s Trophy switches back to 1960-66 production saloons for 2026, while the remaining programme includes the Goodwood Trophy, Whitsun Trophy, Sussex Trophy, Chichester Cup, Glover Trophy, Freddie March Memorial Trophy and Richmond & Gordon Trophies. All 15 races will run exclusively on sustainable fuel.
Sir Jack Brabham will be commemorated 100 years after his birth and 60 years after his third Formula 1 World Championship. Goodwood has said the display will cover different stages of Brabham’s career as driver, engineer and constructor, although the complete list of participating cars has yet to be announced. The 1966 title was won predominantly with the one-off BT19, using the Repco RB620 V8 based around an aluminium Oldsmobile F85 block. Brabham won four successive Grands Prix in the car on the way to becoming the only driver to win the Formula 1 World Championship in a machine carrying his own name.
Barry Sheene is the other major competition figure being marked during Goodwood Revival 2026. The programme concludes a celebration that has run through the Members’ Meeting, Festival of Speed and Revival – the first time Goodwood has devoted all three of its principal motor sport events in one year to the same driver or rider. The timing marks 50 years since Sheene’s first 500cc World Championship in 1976; a collection of his competition motorcycles will appear before the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy. Sheene’s own final race victory came at Goodwood in the Lennox Cup at the 2002 Revival; the race was renamed in his memory following his death in 2003.
The Italian theme at Goodwood Revival 2026 continues with the morning track-opening parade. Around 300 pre-1967 scooters are expected to mark Vespa’s 80th anniversary, with Lambrettas and other contemporary machines included alongside the Vespas. Elsewhere around the circuit, the Turning Circle is being given a La Dolce Vita theme to accompany the Maserati programme. The Freddie March Spirit of Aviation concours will again occupy the airfield with pre-1966 aircraft, while the Bonhams|Cars Revival Sale takes place on Saturday September 19. The auction catalogue had not been fully published at the time of writing.
Saturday admission and three-day passes have already sold out, with Friday and Sunday tickets remaining available in limited numbers.
