Bugatti has created a limited-edition carbonfibre version of the Bugatti Baby II in partnership with The Little Car Company. Offered exclusively to Bugatti Mistral W16 owners, the Baby II Carbon Edition features detailing inspired by the open-top hypercar.

The Baby II is underpinned by an advanced carbonfibre architecture, and each customer will have the option to base their pint-sized car on the unique specifications of their Mistral W16, which is the last road-going Bugatti to feature the company’s signature W16 powerplant.

Just as the name suggests, each Baby II Carbon Edition is adorned with a host of carbonfibre pieces, which grace the radiator and grille, dashboard panel, interior panels and mirror mount. The finishing touch is a carbon centre in the unique black wooden steering wheel.

The Carbon Edition’s visual finish is enhanced by a series of beautifully painted black components. To make the vehicle lighter, the spare wheel and its bracket, and the straps, have all been removed. In honour of Bugatti’s native France, owners can also choose to have a hand-painted French flag adorn the side of their Baby II.

Another Mistral-inspired styling feature is the Carbon Edition’s headlights, which are enclosed within a horizontal LED casing. Each Bugatti Baby II also features a custom-engraved internal plaque that displays the chassis number and model name.

The limited-production Bugatti Baby II was first unveiled in 2019 as a modern tribute to Ettore Bugatti’s original 1926 Bugatti Baby pedal car. This Baby II was created as a 75 percent scale replica of the Type 35 race car to celebrate the marque’s 110th anniversary.

The Baby II Carbon Edition follows the same philosophy, and incorporates many of the brand’s signature styling features. The original Type 35 instruments have been modernised in the Baby II, with the oil gauge repurposed as a power gauge in a nod to the Bugatti Veyron. The Baby II also features a scale version of the original Type 35’s steering wheel, which has a quick-release function for easier ingress and egress to the cockpit.

Forward, neutral and reverse gear selectors have been relocated to the Baby II’s fuel-pump handle, which has been precisely replicated. The adjustable pedals are made of solid aluminium billet and are engraved with the EB logo.

Wiebke Stahl, managing director at Bugatti International, said: “The new Bugatti Baby II Carbon Edition takes inspiration from our ‘Form Follows Performance’ philosophy; an ethos that has informed and ensured that all of Bugatti’s automobiles, lifestyle products and experiences meet the highest standards, be that in quality, luxury, design and performance.”

Ben Hedley, CEO of The Little Car Company, commented: “The Bugatti Baby II Carbon Edition will be the ultimate collector’s item for those lucky W16 Mistral owners. We are honoured that Bugatti wanted to collaborate on this beautiful edition.”

The Bugatti Baby II Carbon Edition is priced at €80,000 plus taxes and shipping. For more information, click here.
