Budds is staging a timed online auction of motor sport memorabilia featuring race-used items associated with Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, Pierre Gasly, Matt Neal and NASCAR racer Jimmy Spencer. The Pole Position: Motorsport Timed Auction runs until September 29, 2026, with the auction house placing a £350,000 to £450,000 pre-sale estimate on the complete sale.
Among the headline lots is a pair of gloves used by Senna in 1993, offered together with a kart component associated with the same year’s Race of Champions (main picture). The gloves are accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity from Racing Force Group and carry an estimate of £25,000 to £30,000.
Several Michael Schumacher-related lots cover different stages of the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion’s career. A pair of signed Ferrari gloves, described as having been race-used during Schumacher’s 2000 World Championship season, is estimated at £5000 to £6000. Budds says the gloves were originally obtained directly from OMP and retain visible signs of use. Also offered is a signed and dated Nomex top worn at the 2012 Brazilian Grand Prix, Schumacher’s final Formula 1 race (pictured above). It carries an estimate of £6000 to £7000, while its Puma label records Schumacher’s name and the date of the Interlagos event.
Reaching further back, a signed rear-wing endplate associated with Schumacher’s 1995 Benetton World Championship-winning period is estimated at £2000 to £3000. The component carries Benetton and Kickers branding along with Schumacher’s signature and the number ‘1’.
More recent Formula 1 material includes Pierre Gasly’s signed helmet from the 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix. Gasly wore the helmet during the wet Interlagos race in which he finished third for Alpine, taking his first podium of the 2024 season. It is estimated at £15,000 to £20,000.
Away from Formula 1, the Budds Pole Position: Motorsport Timed Auction 2026 includes Jimmy Spencer’s trophy from his victory in the 2001 NASCAR MBNA 200, estimated at £1000 to £1500. British Touring Car Championship material is represented by a Matt Neal race suit from the 2004 season, during which Neal recorded three victories and nine podium finishes. The suit is estimated at £1500 to £2500.
