BH Auction kicked off 2026 with more than ¥507.5m ($3.19m) of sales, with a world-record result for a BMW Z8-based Alpina V8 Roadster leading the way.
Held at the Tokyo Auto Salon at City Circuit Tokyo Bay on January 10, 2026, the Bingo list measured 36 lots, 34 on the day, with the star result coming in the form of the 746-mile 2003 Alpina V8 Roadster pictured above. One of 18 sold to Japan, it was auctioned for ¥78,810,000 ($498,300), a new global record for the model.

Other highlights from the BH Auction sale included the above 1975 Ferrari 365 GT4 BB, formerly part of Jamiroquai front man Jay Kay’s collection. Restored at Joe Macari in London from bare metal, it sold for ¥77,700,000 ($488,255). Elsewhere, a 1992 Porsche 964 Carrera RS N/GT sold for ¥37,285,000 ($234,294) and a 2008 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione sold for ¥46,065,000 ($289,465).
An unraced 1979 BMW M1 Procar failed to sell against a ¥180m to ¥220m ($1.114m-$1.39m) estimate, as did a 1947 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Sport Freccia D’Oro (est ¥15m-¥17m, $94,850-$107,500).

The biggest seller among the JDM cars was the above Tommykaira R-Z. One of 35 Tommykaira cars built on a Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec in total, it’s one of 11 range-topping R-Z models with a bored-out engine giving 530bhp, magnesium wheels, Bilstein dampers and six-pot AP Racing brakes. It sold for ¥98,346,000 ($618,000) against a ¥95m-¥105m estimate.
Other JDM highlights at the BH Auction sale included a 1968 Honda S800 M, which sold for ¥7,825,500 ($49,482), but a 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R, aq 1973 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R, a 1972 Nissan Fairlady Z432R and a 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI RS failed to sell.

One of the interesting cars to watch this year may be the Lancia Delta HF Integrale. We’re a year away from the anniversary of Group A becoming the leading production-based motor-racing category in 1987, and we’ve already seen movement on the BMW M3 Sport Evolution late last year, with an enormous result at RM Sotheby’s in Munich.
Of course, Delta and E30 M3 prices took a huge upswing around five years ago, but Delta data over the past year has seen a trailing off in values (16v models aside), particularly in the US. The Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth has also seen a slight downturn, although the appeal of that car doesn’t have the same global appeal as the M3 or Integrale as it does in the UK. However, will the re-emergence of Group A see an uptick in interest in Integrales and the like?
The BH Auction provided two early takes on the market. Many Integrales have returned to Europe from Japan, and these two examples were not pure, unmodified examples. Nevertheless, both the white 1993 Evo II above – wearing Speedline Montecarlo magnesium wheels, a one-off titanium exhaust system, adjustable coilover suspension and other tweaks – and a 1993 Evo I with even more modifications, hit their marks. The white car above sold for ¥9,102,000 ($57,600) while the red car sold for ¥8,325,000 ($52,640), the latter above estimate.
