Zoute auctions 2025: Lots to tempt as Bonhams and Broad Arrow go head to head

The Zoute Auctions 2025 sees Broad Arrow continue its expansion in Europe with a new sale that goes up against traditional event auction specialist Bonhams.

Last year’s event was a watershed moment for Bonhams – after a dire year or so, Zoute saw a successful sale and a good basis for more recent results. For Broad Arrow, this is the second European auction of 2025 after its Villa d’Este sale. Bonhams October 12 event sees 70 lots up for grabs, while Broad Arrow matches that number – its sale takes place on October 10. We’ve picked out five of the most fascinating lots from each sale – what are you bidding on?

Bonhams

Bonhams has assembled an assortment of machinery from the collection of former Cartier CEO Bernard Fornas for the Zoute auctions 2025, spearheaded by the above 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso. Bonhams’ own information seems a little light on detail on chassis no. 4439 at the time of writing – what little Magneto has found suggests the car was first delivered to the US. It’s estimated at between €1.25m and €1.5m.

Other notable Ferraris include a LaFerrari (est €3.3m-€3.6m), a 1991 F40 (€2.6m-€2.9m), a one-owner-from-new 488 Pista Piloti (€540k-€580k), a 1969 365 GTB/4 Plexiglas (€500k-€700k), a 1972 Dino 246 GTS Targa (€380k-€450k), a France-delivered 1963 250 GTE 2+2 Series III (€250k-€330k), a 1965 330 GT 2+2 Series II (€230k-€260k) plus another car from the Bernard Fornas collection: a 1969 365 GT 2+2 (€200k-€220k).

This 1966 Porsche 906 Carrera 6 Works Factory Prototype is known to be the second example built, and it was used as a development car during the winter of 1965 and also during the press unveiling in January 1966. Herbert Linge and Hans Herrmann took it to sixth overall at the 1966 Daytona 24 Hours, and it served as the factory test car for the Targa Florio and Monza 1000km later that year. Restored from the chassis by Freisinger Motorsport between 2008 and 2013, it comes to the Bonhams sale at the Zoute auctions 2025 from a large French collection, yet it is registered in Germany for road use. It’s estimated at between €1.6m and €2.2m.

Other notable Porsches include a 1957 356A Speedster (€280k-€330k), a 2024 992.1 S/T (€340k-€380k), a 1959 356A 1600 S Cabriolet (€170k-€200k), a 1965 911 SWB (€130k-€160k) and a 1987 930 Turbo Cabriolet (€120k-€140k). There’s also a 1992 964 Carrera Cup racing car driven to victory by Mika Häkkinen in the Porsche Supercup Formula 1 support round at Monaco, with Häkkinen becoming the first guest driver to take victory in the series; it’s estimated at between €200k and €230k.

Among the modern classics at Bonhams sale at the Zoute auctions 2025 is this 1986 Lamborghini LM002. Originally delivered to Oman, it’s an early example with Weber carbs. It was subsequently sold to a Dutch doctor working in Oman, who then sold it to the current Belgian owner in 1989. It’s since done 12,800km and has never been restored, and it is described as being in mechanically good condition and comes with a Belgian green technical certificate that’s valid until spring next year. It’s estimated at between €350k and €400k.

Other notable modern classic highlights include 2005 Spyker C8 Spyder (€400k-€450k), a 1999 Lamborghini Diablo SV (€400k-€450k), a 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec Nür (€350k-€450k), a 2000 BMW Z8 with hard-top (€190k-€220k) and a 1992 Lancia Delta Integrale Evo test car driven in period by Didier Auriol (€160k-€200k).

Bonhams has trio of high-end Astons at the Zoute auctions 2025, led by this 1964 DB5 Convertible from the Fornas collection. Details are scarce at the time of writing, but it’s estimated at between €1.15m and €1.4m; there is also a LHD-converted 1964 DB5 restored in 2015 estimated at €500k to €550k, and a UK-delivered 1967 DB6 Volante restored in 2000, estimated at between €400k and €500k.

Other 1950s, ’60s and ’70s cars of note in the auction include a one-of-49 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 Sc Coupé (€325k-€400k), a two-owner 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet (€260k-€280k), a 1967 Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2 (€250k-€300k, no reserve), the ex-Louis Chiron, Monte-Carlo Rally and Carrera Panamericana 1950 Delahaye 175 S Coach (€180k-€220k), a 1968 Citroën DS21 Décapotable (€180k-€220k, no reserve), a 1963 Facel Vega Facel II (€170k-€200k) and an ex-Fornas 1971 Maserati Ghibli (€165k-€210k).

Leading the Bonhams sale at the Zoute auctions 2025 is this one-owner-from-new 2005 Maserati MC12 Stradale. Originally delivered to Italy, it’s covered 44,000km and is estimated at between €3.4m and €4m.

Broad Arrow

For the Zoute auctions 2025, Broad Arrow will be bringing along perhaps a wider selection of cars than Bonhams, with competition machinery, hypercars and models across numerous decades all up for grabs. The lead lot is a one-of-six Verde Pino 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 estimated at €2.7m-€3.2m, which we brought you details of here.

The next four lots by pre-sale estimate are all post-2023: Daniel Ricciardo’s Aston Martin Valkyrie with 160km on the clock (€2.4m-€2.8m), a 2023 Ferrari 812 Competizione (€1.5m-€1.8m), a 2024 Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport (€1.4m-€1.7m) and the above 2015 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse. One of 92 Grand Sport Vitesse models built, it was specially commissioned with a livery inspired by the Transformers film franchise, with an aluminium Transformers logo inside. Since its first delivery to the US, it’s been in Europe since 2018 and has covered 6015km. It’s estimated at between €1.9m and €2.3m

The above 1995 Ferrari F355 is nowhere near the top five most expensive Ferraris in the Broad Arrow Zoute sale 2025 by pre-sale estimate, but it has the potential to be one of the major talking points, given recent auction trends. Finished in Blu Chiaro Metallizzato over beige in GTB specification, and featuring a manual gearbox, it was first delivered to a Mr Rodriguez of Mougins, France, by Charles Pozzi. It’s been comprehensively restored in the Netherlands – which included a repaint and a major engine service – and it’s covered 59,400km. With the spectacular prices achieved for non-red, rare-coloured 1990s Ferraris in Monterey 2025 – and not just the Ralph Lauren F50 – could the €200k-€250k estimate be beaten?

Other road-car Ferrari highlights include 2011 599 GTO (€750k-€850k), a 1966 330 GTC (€450k-€550k), a 2001 550 Barchetta (€425k-€475k), a 1974 365 GT4 BB (€425k-€475k) and a 250 GT Pinin Farina SII (€400k-€500k).

This one-of-one 2004 Aston Martin Vanquish was built by Zagato as a roaster prototype, and it featured a double-bubble canopy, a new rear bumper and DB AR1 tail-lights. It was shown at the Geneva Auto Salon, Villa d’Este and Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, before being bought by an American collector. It was later sold to France and has remained with the vendor ever since. It boasts the six-speed Tremec T56 manual transmission upgrade from Aston Martin Works, and had an extensive service in 2016 and accident repairs by Zagato in 2017. It’s covered 17,911 miles, and is estimated at between €100k and €200k and offered at no reserve at the Broad Arrow Zoute sale 2025.

Other out-of-the-ordinary cars include a one-of-three aluminium-bodied Fissore-bodied OSCA 1600 GT2 cabriolet (€200k-€300k), Carlo Abarth’s first sports racer; a one-of-11 1955 Abarth Boano 207 A (€250k-€350k) and a one-off T-top 1977 Maserati Khamsin (€175k-€225k). There’s also the only known black Martini 5-edition Lancia Delta HF Integrale 16v Evolution built especially for Italian rock star Vasco Rossi (€120k-€180k, no reserve).

This 1976 Lancia Stratos HF was converted to rally specification in period, beginning its racing career in 1978. The car took part in the 1978 Rallye Internazionale della Lana Trofeo Lana Gatto with Fabio Bertin and Marco Sormano. Later that year it was purchased by Massimo Casotto, who competed with it throughout the 1978 and 1979 seasons. He achieved strong results, most notably second place at the 1979 Rally Umbro and fourth at the Rally 1000 Miglia, before selling the car in 1980 to fellow driver Franco Leoni.

Under Leoni’s ownership the Lancia Stratos HF was heavily campaigned in the 1982 Italian Rally Championship, where it enjoyed even greater success; Franco Cassinis and Marina Mandrile drove it to victory at the Rally Valli Imperiesi. For the rest of the season the car was entrusted to Leoni and Giuseppe Borgo, who won the Rally Alto Appennino Bolognese Rally Petroniano, and took second-place finishes at both the Rally Appennino Reggiano and the Rallye Vierre. More recently the French restoration specialist Daunat Classique prepared the Stratos HF for the Tour de Corse Historique, in which it competed in 2015 wearing number 60 and in 2016 wearing number 36. It’s estimated at €600k-€800k at the Broad Arrow Zoute sale 2025.

Other racing machines of note include a 1970 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona prepared to Competizione specification by Carrozzeria Auto Sport (Bacchelli & Villa) in the mid-1970s (€800k-€1m), the Harald Brutschin/McDonalds Ferrari F355 Challenge (€275k-€350k), a 1989 Lancia Delta HF Integrale 8v Safari rally car in Martini livery that was used by Miki Biasion and Jorge Recalde (€300k-€400k), a Works 1976 Fiat 131 Abarth rally car used during the 1977 World Rally Championship and driven by the likes of Fulvio Bacchelli and Markku Alén (€320k-€380k), and the 1976 Spa 24 Hours-winning and 1976 Le Mans class-winning BMW 3.0 CSL (€500k-€600k).

The Porsche Carrera GT has seen a few interesting results recently, after a couple of difficult years thanks in part to a recall for troublesome suspension that rendered the model virtually undriveable. However, Porsche has now addressed this, while Michelin has developed new, modern tyres specifically for the car (the Pilot Sport Cup 2 N-Spec) – and these key changes are perhaps why interest has begun to grow again. This particular car has both of these key upgrades, plus a September 2025 service from Porsche Zentrum Stuttgart. It’s had four owners and has covered 21,655km. It’s offered with an estimate of between €1.35m and €1.55m at the Broad Arrow Zoute sale 2025.

Other Porsche highlights include 1995 993 Carrera RS M002 (€300k-€350k), a 1975 930 Turbo (€250k-€300k), a 1962 356B 1600 D’Ieteren Twin Grille Roadster (€250k-€350k), 2008 997 GT2 (€220k-€300k), a 1953 356 Pre-A ‘Knickscheibe’ 1500 Cabriolet (€175k-€200k no reserve), a 1989 964 Speedster (€175k-€220k) and a rare Rainforest Green 2001 996 GT3 (€150k-€200k).
