Villa La Massa Excellence 2025 returns in October 2025, renewing its focus on bringing the concours d’elegance approach to cars dating from the 1990s right up to the modern day.
The event will be held over the weekend of October 17-19, and will feature a jury made up of experts in design, art, sport and the automotive world. Two additional awards will be given out: the People’s Choice voted for on Saturday’s Public Day, and the Future Choice, awarded by a special Junior Jury. In 2023, the Villa La Massa Excellence Golden Cup was awarded to a prototype Ferrari F40, while last year a 2023 Bugatti Centodieci took home top honours.
The event takes place in the leafy grounds of the Villa La Massa, which forms part of the same hotel group as the legendary Italian concours venue Villa d’Este. The Medici-era villa is set in ten hectares of parkland overlooking the Arno River close to Florence, and it comprises 54 rooms and suites spread across six villas. The two restaurants are both managed by Chef Stefano Ballarino; Il Verrocchio offers a classic Italian menu with contemporary notes, focusing on local produce, while Bistrot L’Oliveto offers light cuisine with international classics.
The event kicks off on Friday evening with welcome drinks, before the public day on Saturday featuring a poolside brunch and car parade, and a gala dinner in the evening along with the awards ceremony. The Sunday includes a drive through the local Mugello countryside before a farewell lunch. During the two-night stay there is a free daily shuttle to and from Florence city centre, along with free use of the Arno Spa facilities, which are located in the hotel’s ancient cellars, and feature a relaxation area, sauna, Turkish bath, Roman bath with hydro-massage, gym and treatment rooms.
