The Amelia Concours 2026: What you can look forward to

Words: Nathan Chadwick

We’re only a few weeks away from The Amelia Concours 2026 (March 5-8, 2026) – here’s what you can look forward to as the show season hits Florida. For more information on the Broad Arrow and Gooding & Co auctions, head here.

It all kicks off on Thursday March 5, 2026, with the Broad Arrow auction preview and Ride & Drive, which allows attendees to sample new cars around the island. In the afternoon, there’s an introduction to the new style of judging in place for the concours d’elegance. The fresh system, entitled M100, is intended to modernise the judging process, and chief judge Nigel Matthews and co-chief judge Chris Kamer will guide spectators and entrants around the new system. In the evening, The Reverie event brings fine food and drink, plus live music, to the Ritz-Carlton for an elegant soirée.

The Friday starts bright and early for the 8 Flags Road Tour Kick-Off, which sees the concours cars set off from Downtown Fernandina Beach. A repeat of the judging-system seminar is held in the afternoon, just prior to the Broad Arrow auction getting under way. In the evening, the Legends of Speed dinner will play host to the Amelia Concours 2026 Honouree Dario Franchitti MBE.

The Amelia Concours 2026 gets into its stride on the Saturday with the 31st concours d’elegance between 9:30am and 4:00pm. The class list is vast: the Horseless Carriage era, Pre-War American automobiles, legendary Duesenberg and distinguished Pre-War European cars together represent the pioneering foundations of automotive engineering and luxury. Sleeve-valve classics, stately early Rolls-Royces, supercharged Mercedes-Benzes and rare American limited-production automobiles exemplify craftsmanship and exclusivity from motoring’s pre-war golden age.

European post-war touring and European post-war luxury automobiles, and the first two generations of European post-war sports cars, illustrate the continent’s determined resurgence through innovation and performance. The third and fourth generations of European post-war sports cars, Euro muscle machines, production-built turbocharged cars from 1971 to 1990, and iconic pony cars define an era of escalating horsepower and stylistic bravado. The formidable Chevrolet Corvette L88, Porsche super street cars, Tom Cotter’s One of One selections and modern hypercars promise sights you’re unlikely to see elsewhere.

In terms of the racing machines, there’s Ferrari competition cars, Porsche aluminium-bodied racers and E-, F-, G- and H-Modified specials, as well as podium-finishing race cars, plus themed classes such as Winners at Sebring, Daytona or Le Mans and thunderous Can-Am competitors. The Icons: Carroll Shelby classes are split into Mustangs and Cobras, while there’s a celebration of IMSA racing cars, Kurtis creations, Dario Franchitti’s previous rides, ARCF post-war racing cars and Chip Foose creations.

Elsewhere, there’s day two of the Broad Arrow auction, while RADwood brings a taste of the 1980s and ’90s to proceedings.

The Amelia Concours 2026 wraps up on Sunday March 8 with a host of seminars: The Future of Women in Motorsports featuring Mia LeRoux and Sabre Cook, an in-depth look at the cars of Dario Franchitti, a look back at Chip Foose’s career in cars and art with Ken Gross, and a discussion on Can-Am starring Tommy Kendall and Mark Raffauf.
