Monterey Motorsports Festival waves off 2025 Car Week in style

Monterey Motorsports Festival 2025 had it all: beautifully preserved classics, brand-new one-off supercars and track heroes – oh, and twin-turbocharged Ferrari V12s howling along accompanied by plumes of tyre smoke. A great way to finish off a busy Monterey Car Week.

Said twin-turbocharged V12 was in Daily Driven Exotics and Federico Sceriffo’s Formula DRIFT PRO Championship Ferrari 599 GTB, which was part of the Donut Island experience that included appearances from New Zealand drift driver and Red Bull athlete Mad Mike, James Kirkham from Race Service, former Lamborghini test driver Valentino Balboni and NASCAR driver Jesse Iwuji.

There really was something for everyone at Monterey Motorsports Festival 2025 – 6000 attendees saw more than 300 cars on display, with European classics, the latest hypercars, lowriders, muscle cars and everything in between. The Best in Show went to the Peralta S, designed by Fabrizio Giugiaro and owned by Carlos Peralta (picture above; more on this car here).

Maria Laura Luraghi, granddaughter of a former Alfa Romeo president and a concours judge for Automotoclub Storico Italiano, personally presented the ASI prize at Monterey Motorsports Festival 2025, one of three awards given to Chevrolet Impalas in the Legacy, Lowrider and ASI classes.

In contrast, the Exotic category was taken by Alex Alvarez with his Corvette convertible in ZR8X trim. Eliv Solis impressed the judges in the Custom class with a striking E30 BMW 323i upgraded with a 3.2-litre S54 turbo engine. Bringing the celebrations to a close, Federico Sceriffo secured the Motorsports award with his Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorella.

Away from the cars, four headline acts played to the crowd, led by DJ Dillon Francis, and more than $50,000 was donated in aid of non-profit organisations benefitting the local community.

“It took us three years to get here, but Monterey Motorsports Festival has definitively made its mark on Car Week,” said event founder Paolo Manca. “Everything this small team of dedicated people put together, with the help of a large list of contributors and volunteers, was enjoyed by more than 6000 people who descended upon the Fairgrounds for an unforgettable closing evening to Car Week.

“We were incredibly excited for the welcome we received from Car Week attendees, the local community and the automotive industry, and we sincerely looking forward to repeating the event next year. We were also honoured to be chosen for the US reveal of the Peralta S, which was truly deserving of our Best in Show award.”
