Historics Auctioneers has confirmed the opening of a new headquarters in Ascot, Berkshire, following a £5 million investment in a purpose-built facility designed to support its auction operations.
The move comes 16 years after the company held its first sale at Brooklands in 2010. Since then, Historics has established itself within the UK classic car auction sector, hosting regular sales at venues including Ascot Racecourse and Brooklands, typically offering around 200 vehicles per auction.

The new site, located next to Ascot railway station, spans approximately 1.5 acres and has been developed as a central base for the company’s activities. Designed by Garrett McKee, the building combines office space for its 28 staff with a dedicated showroom and display area measuring around 200 square metres. This gallery space will be used to exhibit a rotating selection of collector vehicles and is also intended to support future diversification, with Historics planning to broaden its auction offering beyond cars and automobilia into other collectable categories.

Founded in 2009 by chief executive Mark Perkins, the company remains privately owned and funded. It reported turnover in excess of £16m in 2025, continuing a pattern of year-on-year growth since its launch. Sustainability measures have also been incorporated into the new development. The building is equipped with 80 solar panels and battery storage, allowing it to operate independently of the electricity grid for more than half of the year.
Historics Auctioneers states that the Ascot headquarters will serve both as an operational centre and as a venue to support future auction formats and events. The next auction is the Flight of Elegance sale at Farnborough International on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Early highlights include a 1933 Lagonda 16/80 Sports Special (est £70k-£90k) and one of 15 1976 Ford Escort Mk2 RS1800 Customs, pictured below, estimated at £195k-£235k.
