Colin McRae is to be honoured at Classic Nostalgia, Shelsley Walsh‘s annual tribute to Historic motor sport, 30 years since the Scot clinched the World Rally Championship.

The 2025 running of Classic Nostalgia, now in its 14th year, will take place on July 19-20, and McRae’s infamous Subaru Impreza ‘L555 BAT’ will be joined by other notable McRae-driven cars. There will be demonstration runs, plus a Q&A session with members of the Prodrive team during that championship year. Panellists will include engineer David Lapworth, Colin’s then-chief mechanic Alan McGuinness, mechanics Charlie Dodd, Nigel Riddle and Simon Cole, and motor sport commentator Mark James. Colin’s father Jimmy and his co-driver Derek Ringer are anticipated to be coming, too.

Colin McRae fans can also win a passenger ride in the 1996 Rallye Catalunya-winning Subaru Impreza Group A, ‘N1 WRC’, driven by David Lapworth. It was the last rally Colin contested with co-driver Ringer, and the last Group A Impreza. The win meant Subaru took home the manufacturers’ title for the second year running. All proceeds from the draw at Classic Nostalgia 2025 go to the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Other rallying highlights include the Group B, Group A and WRC cars brought along by the Ralli22 organisation, taking on the historic hillclimb. There’s plenty more to see at Classic Nostalgia 2025, too, with Formula 1 cars giving demonstration runs in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the F1 World Championship, while V8 NASCARs will also be taking on the challenge of this narrow strip of tarmac.

Elsewhere at Classic Nostalgia 2025 there will be a concours competition, and an Exhibition of Speed: The Art of Motorsport Gallery showcasing the UK’s leading automotive artists, with special guests and unveilings planned to take place over the two days. More than 20 car clubs will be in attendance, and there will be live music and Spitfire flypasts from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight on both days.
