Alberto Scuro, president of the Automotoclub Storico Italiano (ASI) and a long-standing figure in the historic vehicle sector, has been appointed president of Fédération Internationale des Véhicules (FIVA). He succeeds Tiddo Bresters, following the completion of the latter’s second three-year term. The appointment was confirmed at the 2025 FIVA General Assembly in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil on November 23.
In addition to Scuro’s election, Natasa Grom Jerina assumed the role of senior vice-president for Internal Relations, and Karlheinz Jungbeck of ADAC succeeded her as vice-president for Youth and Cultural Affairs. Bresters, JJ Dolleman and Carlos Scoseria were elected to the FIVA Arbitration Panel. Meanwhile, Malcolm Grubb (Events), Lars Genild (Legislation) and Gabriela Magureanu (Membership) retained their positions unopposed, and Jos Theuns continues as senior vice-president for External Relations.
A former vascular surgeon, Scuro has chaired ASI since 2019, having joined its board in 2011, and he has now stepped back from his ASI responsibilities to concentrate fully on FIVA. An active collector and competitor, he takes part in events ranging from the Le Mans Classic to the London to Brighton run. His stated objective is to broaden FIVA’s international reach and strengthen engagement with its member organisations.
