The Art of Racing: Helmets is a two volume publication curated with an unparalleled collection of race-worn motor racing helmets, from their pre-war introduction through to the end of the 2024 season.
Spanning more than 650 pages over the two books, it charts the evolution of the helmet not only as a vital safety device, tracking advances in materials and protection, but also as a canvas for personal expression.
These two volumes are the first to feature original, race-worn helmets from every Formula 1 World Champion and include examples from 99% of all Grand Prix-winning drivers. Also represented are race-winning helmets from the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Indianapolis 500 as well as road races such as The Mille Miglia and The Targa Florio, many having been personally selected and supplied by the drivers themselves.
The Art of Racing: Helmets will be limited to a slipcased edition of 300 copies priced at £475. An exclusive limited edition of 50 numbered and signed leather-bound volumes priced at £1575 are available upon request.
