Italian Berlinettas coming to London Concours

‘The Italian Berlinettas’ has been announced, revealing the first class present at this summer’s London Concours. The class will consist of ten iconic ‘60s Italian berlinettas including the Ferrari 250GT SWB.

The Italian Berlinettas will be a celebration of the golden-era of Italian sports car design and will be one of the 11 classes showcased at the event.

The Iso Grifo GL 365 is another rare Italian classic that is entered into the class. The Iso’s graceful styling was the work of legendary Italian designer Giorgetto Giugaro at Bertone.

Underneath the Italian bodywork was a Chevrolet V8 engine that produced 365bhp. This meant the car could reach speeds of 140mph, making it one of the fastest production cars in the world at the time.

The event takes place at the height of the British summer between June 8-10. London concours director, Andrew Evans, says the event’s fifth edition will take place at “one of London’s most beautiful hidden venues,” the Honourable Artillery Company HQ.

“As much as our event is about rare vehicles, it is also about style and luxury; it’s a taste of La Dolce Vita. And really no other era or locale of car design sums up that feeling quite like the heyday of Italian sports car design in the ‘60s.”

Resultantly, the event has been extended to a three-day format to satisfy the visitor demand for more luxury brand content.
