The Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court has announced a new 30UNDER30 feature for this year’s event, in celebration of the next generation of classic car owners. The new feature includes an eclectic mix of six concours categories spanning from 1900-1999, totalling 30 models. The feature is exclusively reserved for entrants under the age of 30.

The 30 classics will be curated by McLaren Automotive heritage manager Thomas Reinhold, and range from historic pre-war models in the 1900-1939 Pioneer Petrolheads class, to modern classics from the 1980s and ’90s in the Leg Warmers and Spice Girls category. Hampton Court Concours says the event is designed to “support the nation’s collective and diverse motoring passions”.

Other categories include the Best of British (1940-1979) class for “…fans of cricket, afternoon tea, The Who and warm beer”, and the Italian Stallions (1940-1979) class, which showcases “style, elegance and passion… the enchanting embodiment of La Dolce Vita”.

Qualifying owners can enter the prestigious event by sending a brief description and image of their car to the event organisers and paying a £75 entry fee. Successful entrants will gain admission to the event for two people, a complimentary catalogue and all-day access to the Bridge of Weir Members’ Enclosure.

The 30UNDER30 exhibits join several other special features announced by the organisers for 2021, including a Gulf vs Martini celebration, a 95th Anniversary display to honour the Queen’s birthday, and a line-up of the finest coachbuilt Rolls-Royces.

This year’s event will take place on September 3-5, and returns to Hampton Court Palace in London. The concours has previously taken place at Windsor Castle, St, James’ Palace and the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

In addition to the automotive displays, the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court will feature art, jewellery and fashion exhibits, as well as picnics by Fortnum & Mason.
