A one-off Aston Martin Lagonda Shooting Brake is heading to auction at Broad Arrow’s Zürich sale on November 7, 2026. Estimated at CHF 250,000-350,000 (£227,500-£318,536), it is based on one of just 76 Series 3 Lagondas built and was converted by Swiss specialist Roos Engineering over four years, with Aston Martin’s approval.
Designed by William Towns, the dramatic, wedge-shaped Lagonda made its debut in 1976 as one of the most radical luxury saloons of its era. With its lavish interior and pioneering digital instrumentation, it was conceived to attract wealthy buyers at a time when Aston Martin was struggling financially.

The car offered by Broad Arrow was first registered in Switzerland in 1987. After acquiring it in 1996, the consignor commissioned Roos Engineering to transform it into a Shooting Brake. Aston Martin officially approved the project and supplied components for the conversion.
Completed in 2000, the conversion retained the Lagonda’s original length to comply with Swiss homologation regulations, while introducing an extended roofline and upright tailgate to increase luggage capacity. The bespoke bodywork also incorporated new rear windows and additional lighting.

The 4.3-litre fuel-injected V8 and four-speed automatic transmission were stripped and rebuilt, while the notoriously troublesome electrical system was renewed. A replacement ECU and bespoke rear dampers designed to accommodate heavier loads were also fitted. Additional lights were incorporated into the rear bumper to remain visible when the tailgate is raised, while a bespoke system was developed to prevent exhaust fumes from entering the cabin when the boot is open.
Inside, grey Connolly leather and Alcantara upholstery are complemented by burr walnut veneers on the door cards, centre console and dashboard.

Finished in Antrim Blue, the Shooting Brake has covered fewer than 30,000 miles. It is accompanied by a build book and invoices documenting Roos Engineering’s conversion.
