The 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed will honour the 75th anniversary of the Formula 1 World Championship on July 10-13 with a breathtaking lineup of over 100 Grand Prix cars and eight World Champions, including Alain Prost, Mario Andretti and Nigel Mansell. Significantly, Goodwood has also confirmed that three of the sport’s most legendary designers – Gordon Murray, Adrian Newey and Ross Brawn, will also be present.

Pushing the boundaries of technology has always been central to the relentless pursuit of performance in Formula 1,” said The Duke of Richmond. “I am thrilled that three of the most brilliant designers of all time – Adrian Newey, Gordon Murray and Ross Brawn – will be joining us at this year’s Festival of Speed, as we celebrate 75 years of the World Championship.”

With a remarkable 223 Grand Prix victories and 26 World Championships on his CV, Adrian Newey has single-handedly won more silverware than every F1 team other than Scuderia Ferrari and Mercedes-AMG.

Adrian Newey

It’s fitting, then, that Newey has curated the cars for the Innovators class, one of six pillars celebrating F1’s anniversary. The other categories, Prologue, Pioneers, Underdogs, Champions and Teams, each tell a part of the sport’s history. The cars from these classes will be showcased in the Paddock and will also tackle Goodwood’s famous Hill.

“It’s been a real pleasure to work with Goodwood on assembling such a remarkable collection of Formula 1 cars for the Innovators class,” said Newey. “It’s a celebration not just of the machines, but of the creativity, craftsmanship, and engineering excellence that have defined the sport over the past 75 years.”

Professor Gordon Murray

Gordon Murray’s eponymous supercar manufacturer GMA is being honoured as the Featured Marque at this year’s FoS, so it’s perhaps unsurprising that the man himself will also be making an appearance. The legendary designer’s most famous F1 creations are the innovative Brabham BT46 ‘Fan Car,’ as well as the all-conquering McLaren MP4/4 that dominated the 1988 season. A collection of Murray’s greatest designs – including the McLaren F1 and GMA supercars – will be displayed in the Paddock.

Ross Brawn

The man behind Michael Schumacher’s period of unprecedented run of success, Ross Brawn, will be joined at the event by several of his Championship-winning designs. His most famous car, however, is undoubtedly the car that bears his surname, the Brawn BGP001 that took Jenson Button to the title against all odds back in 2009.
