The 2025 Silverstone Festival (August 22–24) promises to be one of the most memorable in recent years, with an action-packed Historic racing programme, myriad on-site attractions and a landmark celebration marking the 75th anniversary of Formula 1.

Held over the UK’s final summer bank holiday weekend, the annual Festival is the world’s largest Historic motor sport gathering, attracting more than 100,000 spectators and 1000-plus drivers to the Northamptonshire circuit. The racing spans everything from open-wheel single-seaters and Le Mans prototypes to GT cars and pre-war machines.

Complementing the on-track spectacle is a packed paddock and infield, headlined this year by the once-in-a-lifetime Formula 1 World Champion Collection. This landmark display will showcase Grand Prix cars driven by all 34 Formula 1 World Champions – from Nino Farina’s 1950 Alfa Romeo 158 to Max Verstappen’s reigning RB18.

Highlights include contributions from Williams, McLaren, Red Bull Racing and Mercedes-AMG, along with icons such as Jim Clark’s Lotus 25, Jenson Button’s Brawn BGP001 and Sir Jackie Stewart’s Tyrrell 006 – the latter showcased in support of his Race Against Dementia charity.

The competitive action begins on Friday with 15 qualifying sessions, alongside anniversary parades, stunt shows, dragster fire-ups, drifting demonstrations and interactive attractions such as Foodie Fest, Sporting Bears Dream Rides and the Williams Racing F1 Fan Zone. Historic Formula Juniors once driven by Clark, Jackie Stewart and Jochen Rindt will be first on track, while the day concludes with qualifying for the International Trophy for Classic GT Cars and an evening performance from Natasha Bedingfield on the Main Stage at 8:00pm.

Wheel-to-wheel racing gets underway on Saturday, with standouts including the combined RAC Woodcote Trophy and Stirling Moss Trophy, the Derek Bell Trophy for F2/5000 cars and the debut of GT3 Legends. Away from the circuit, Iconic Auctioneers hosts its Collector Car Sale at midday, while Wheeler Dealers’ Mike Brewer and Marc Priestley present a live Car Clinic.

Saturday afternoon opens with the Masters Racing Legends for Historic Grand Prix cars followed by Masters Endurance Legends, the Transatlantic Touring Car Trophy, HGPCA Pre-’66 Grand Prix Cars, the International Trophy for Classic GT Cars and the evocative Masters Group C. Craig David headlines the evening entertainment, followed by a hot-air balloon display.

Sunday’s finale packs in ten races, starting with the second Historic Formula Junior contest at 9:00am, followed by the RAC Historic TT, Derek Bell Trophy and MRL Historic Touring Car Challenge. After the 500cc Formula 3 race, fans can enjoy the Historic F1 Gridwalk before the concluding MRL Formula 1 race. The action continues with the HGPCA Pre-’66 Grand Prix Cars, the final Masters Endurance Legends showdown, and the weekend’s closing battles in the Masters GT Trophy and Masters Sports Car Legends.

Live music from the Ministry of Sound Classical will then bring down the curtain on what looks certain to be one of the most memorable editions of the Silverstone Festival in recent memory.
