2025 Audrain Veteran Car Tour brings Brass Era brigade to roads of Newport

Curio Brass Era motor cars drove in convoy around the roads of Newport, Rhode Island, US, for the fourth edition of the Audrain Veteran Car Tour.

Inspired by the UK’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run – which stands as the world’s longest-running motoring event – the Audrain Veteran Car Tour saw pre-1918 automobiles embark on a 50-mile round trip from Newport to Bristol and back again.

The late 19th and early 20th centuries were truly experimental times for the motor industry, and that’s reflected in the sheer diversity of powertrains and body styles of the participating cars. The event splits the vehicles into two categories: one for models built between 1895 and 1907 and another for 1907-1918 machines.

Enthusiasts and onlookers alike marvelled at the diverse sights and sounds of steam and petrol-powered vehicles as they gathered in the morning along Newport’s historic Bellevue Avenue, before chugging towards Bristol, Rhode Island. After a spot of lunch at the 1895-built Blithewood Mansion, the Brass Era cavalcade made its way back to the Audrain Automobile Museum in Newport in the springtime sunshine.

We are thrilled that our tour is now being recognised among enthusiasts in a similar league to that of the world-famous London to Brighton Veteran Car Run,” commented Audrain Group president Nic Waller. “Both events bring together enthusiasts and collectors to showcase the beauty, craftsmanship and heritage of these early automobiles. It was a treat to welcome back old friends of the Audrain, such as the inimitable Wayne Carini, as well as new collectors to the event.”

The fifth edition of the Audrain Veteran Car Tour is scheduled to take place in 2026. Dates and further information will be announced in the coming months. For more information, click here.
