Auto Artists for Ukraine raise over £10,000 for Red Cross

A group of automotive artists has created a charitable initiative in response to the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Ukraine, following the Russian invasion on February 24.

Automotive Artists for Ukraine is the name of the initiative, and it plans to raise money for the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal by selling various automotive artworks.

The artworks are advertised on behalf of Auto Artists for Ukraine via social media, with 100 percent of the proceeds pledged for donation.

More than 25 artists have agreed to donate artworks so far, and that number is increasing as Russia’s aggression towards Ukraine continues.

The initiative is being led by artists Jonny Ambrose and the Reverend Adam Gompertz, who said: “We’ve already been heartened by how many artists, photographers, illustrators and peers have pledged to help out so far. We’ve raised £3000 in the first two days… we want most works to be affordable at a set price so that everyone can participate.”

Those comments were made shortly after the initiative was launched on March 3 – at time of writing, the figure raised by the group is in excess of £10,000.
